Course Experience: What to Expect
Prepare for a rigorous and rewarding training experience, blending online education with practical in-water sessions. The course demands high physical fitness levels, demonstrated through swim tests and rescue scenarios, alongside mastery of diving skills in various conditions. You’ll engage in active learning, developing the ability to manage dive groups, solve problems, and lead dives effectively. This holistic training approach equips you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel as a SDI Divemaster.
By completing the SDI Divemaster Course, you step into a world of professional diving, ready to lead, inspire, and advance in the global dive community.

Course Prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18.
- Certified SDI Advanced Adventure Diver or equivalent; advanced certification must include verifiable experience in deep, navigation, night, and limited visibility specialties.
- Certified SDI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
- Provide proof of current First Response Adult and Child Emergency Care Provider and Oxygen Administration Provider (where local law permits) certification or equivalent. *
- Provide proof of at least 40 logged dives (see 3.11 for number of dives/hours required for graduation).
* Note: First Response courses may be combined with the SDI Divemaster course by qualified instructors.

Scuba Diving International (SDI) offers courses for recreational diver, like Basic Open Water course, the first course every diver takes to start their dive training. SDI also offers specialties to continue the divers education like Deep, Wreck, and Night to name a few. In addition, SDI offers Leadership level training such as Dive Master, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Instructor.
